The Kano State Housing Corporation (KSHC) has warned members of the public against purchasing land at Madinawa, Gurjiya area of Dawakin Kudu Local Government, behind Amana City, describing ongoing land transactions in the area as illegal.
The Corporation said some land grabbers have unlawfully encroached on government-owned land under the custody of KSHC, where they are illegally demarcating plots, creating unauthorized layouts, and selling them to unsuspecting members of the public.
Speaking through a statement signed by the Director of Public Enlightenment, Ismail Garba Gwammaja, KSHC clarified that the land belongs to the Kano State Government and is legally managed by the Kano State Housing Corporation.
According to the statement, no individual, group, or agent has been authorized to sell, allocate, or transact any portion of the land.
KSHC described the activities of the land grabbers as fraudulent and criminal, warning that anyone involved in such illegal dealings would face the full weight of the law.
The Corporation also cautioned the public to desist from buying or negotiating land in the area, stressing that the state government would not hesitate to take decisive legal action, including demolition of illegal structures and prosecution of offenders, to protect government property.
KSHC further advised residents to always verify land ownership with the Corporation before engaging in any land transaction to avoid falling victim to fraudsters.
