Holders of government offices have been urged to emulate the leadership style of the late Premier of Northern Nigeria, Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto, particularly in integrity, accountability, patriotism, and commitment to the welfare of the people.
The call was made by Islamic cleric and community leader, Malam Magaji Umar Dan Aljanna, during an interaction with journalists to mark the 60th anniversary of the Sardauna’s death.

Malam Dan Aljanna said past leaders governed with honesty and a strong sense of responsibility, without discrimination based on religion or ethnicity, adding that such qualities contributed significantly to unity and development in the region.
He stressed the need for present-day leaders to reflect on history and implement people-centered policies and projects that would leave lasting legacies after leaving office.
The cleric also appealed to governors of Northern states and other stakeholders to urgently address the challenges facing Radio Nigeria Kaduna, describing the station as one of the institutions established by Sir Ahmadu Bello.
He noted that the station is currently facing serious operational difficulties and requires immediate intervention to restore its relevance.
Malam Dan Aljanna further called on Nigerians to intensify prayers for peace, improved security, and sustained economic growth.

He advised parents to pay closer attention to the moral upbringing of their children, particularly in view of rising moral decadence among youths.
He also urged young people to pursue both religious and Western education, as well as acquire vocational skills to promote self-reliance.
In addition, the cleric called on the public to uphold the fear of God in daily activities and to support security agencies by providing information that could help address security challenges in Northern Nigeria and across the country.
He appealed to the three tiers of government to initiate policies and programs aimed at improving the living conditions of Nigerians.
