The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, as the new Chairman of its National Convention Central Coordination Committee, replacing Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma.
According to Ireporter Online, the announcement was made in a statement signed by the party’s National Secretary, Surajudeen Basiru, and shared on the APC’s official social media handle on Friday.
The statement explained that, “In further consultation with the leadership and national stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Central Coordination Committee for the 2026 National Convention has been reconstituted.” As part of the reorganisation, Governor Uzodimma has been reassigned as Treasurer.
The committee’s membership has been expanded from 73 to 90, including senior party figures such as Senator Barry Mpigi. Former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim has been named Vice Chairman I, while Kwara State Governor and Nigeria Governors’ Forum Chairman, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, will serve as Vice Chairman II. Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, remains Secretary of the convention committee.
Basiru added that sub-committees under the Central Coordination Committee will be constituted and announced in due course.
The reconstitution follows the initial announcement of Uzodimma as chair, signaling preparations for the APC’s March 27–28 convention, where new members of the National Working Committee (NWC) are expected to be elected.
