Kebbi State Police Command has arrested two persons for receiving stolen properties and is intensifying efforts to track down the principal suspect.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafi’u Abubakar, disclosed this to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.
He said one Usman Wasagu of Kawara area, Birnin Kebbi, reported at the Divisional police headquarters, Birnin Kebbi, that unknown person(s), broke his store located behind Sajo school of Nursing Science, Birnin Kebbi, and stole his seven-number power Tiller machines worth three million one hundred and fifty thousand Naira N 150,000:00.

According to him, a team of Policemen attached to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Birnin Kebbi, swiftly swung into action and succeeded in arresting Hamidu Bagudu of the Tudun Wada area and Abdullahi Aliyu of the Nasarawa area, all in Birnin Kebbi town, in connection with the case.
During preliminary investigation, they confessed to having received the stolen items from one Usman Inyamu of Tudun Wada area, who is still at large, adding that the said Usman sold the stolen items to Abdullahi Aliyu at the sum of N 1,840,000.00, out of which N 250,000.00 has been recovered as exhibits.
The Statement added that the Police have also succeeded in recovering all seven stolen Tiller machines from the suspects.

The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello Sani had commended the professionalism and prompt response exhibited by the DPO Birnin Kebbi and his men and reiterated the Command’s determination to rid Kebbi State of all forms of violent crimes.
He directed the DPO Birnin Kebbi to immediately transfer the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
CP Bello equally emphasised that with accurate and timely information from members of the public, the Command will be determined to make Kebbi State uninhabitable for criminal elements.
