The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has destroyed fake, counterfeit, and substandard products worth N985.3 million in Kano
The products, seized from the Northwestern part of the country, included medicines, food, cosmetics, chemicals, and medical devices.

Speaking at the destruction site, NAFDAC Director General, Professor Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye, emphasized the agency’s commitment to eradicating fake drugs and harmful products from circulation.

She urged consumers to be vigilant and report suspicious products, promising that the agency will prosecute offenders to the fullest extent of the law.
The destruction of these harmful products demonstrates NAFDAC’s dedication to protecting the health and wellbeing of Nigerians.

She said agency has also strengthened its regulatory framework, enhanced surveillance, and collaborated with local and international partners to prevent the circulation of dangerous goods.
Industry stakeholders, including the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) and the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), have pledged their support for NAFDAC’s efforts, calling for stiffer punishments for offenders.
