The Kano State Government KNSG has reiterated its commitment to enhancing security across all parts of the state, pledging continued support to local security outfits in the discharge of their duties.
The Commissioner for Internal Security and Special Services, Retired Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Umaru, made the declaration during the distribution of the first batch of uniforms and operational kits to the Kano State Command of the Vigilante Group, drawn from the 44 local government areas of the state.

AVM Umaru (Rtd) said the state government remains resolute in ensuring the protection of lives and property, noting that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf deeply appreciates the complementary role played by the Vigilante Group alongside conventional security agencies.
He assured that the ministry would sustain its support to the group to enhance effectiveness, adding that new administrative and patrol vehicles would soon be procured to boost their operational capacity.
The commissioner also stressed the importance of synergy among all security agencies in the state, urging unity and cooperation among vigilante members for improved security outcomes.
In his remarks, the State Commander of the Vigilante Group, Ambassador Shehu Muhammad Rabiu, appealed to wealthy individuals and philanthropists in Kano to support the government by donating patrol vehicles and other logistics, emphasizing that security remains a collective responsibility.

Rabiu expressed gratitude to Governor Yusuf for addressing long-standing challenges affecting the Vigilante Group, noting that the government has constructed a befitting state office complex and is working on other welfare-related issues.
He pledged the group’s commitment to justify the government’s confidence by rededicating themselves to safeguarding communities across the state.
