The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly KNHA, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore, has again condemned the killing of a mother and her six children in Kano State, describing the act as barbaric and deeply painful.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, the Speaker welcomed the arrest of three suspects by the Nigeria Police Force, describing it as a positive step toward securing justice for the victims. He stressed that such heinous crimes must not go unpunished.
“This shocking incident committed against an innocent woman and her children is heartbreaking. While we commend the swift action of the police in arresting suspects, we urge that thorough investigations continue until all perpetrators are brought to justice,” Falgore said.
The Speaker aligned himself with the position of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, who has directed security agencies to ensure that justice is served without delay. He assured that the Kano State House of Assembly would continue to support all relevant security agencies in their efforts to protect lives and property across the state.
Falgore conveyed condolences on behalf of the entire Assembly to the bereaved families, the state government, and the people of Kano State. He appealed for calm and urged citizens to avoid any action capable of triggering further violence, expressing confidence that justice would take its full course.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. May Almighty Allah forgive their shortcomings and grant them eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus,” he added.
