The Kwankwasiyya Movement has expressed deep appreciation to political appointees and elected officials who voluntarily resigned their positions in solidarity with its leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, describing their actions as a demonstration of courage, integrity, and principled leadership.

In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed, the Movement praised former Commissioners, Special Advisers, Special Assistants, Managing Directors, Executive Secretaries, and other appointees who chose to relinquish their offices despite the benefits attached to them.
According to the statement, the resignations were carried out in defence of the core values of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, with the individuals involved prioritising honour and conviction over personal comfort.
The Movement disclosed that Senator Kwankwaso had earlier advised those who resigned to reconsider their decisions, noting that the appeal was made out of appreciation for their contributions to governance and institution-building, not as a sign of weakness.
It stated that the former governor believes governance should be centred on service delivery and not reduced to personal vendettas or political intimidation.
However, the resigning appointees reportedly maintained that their personal convictions conflicted with the policies and orientation of the Gandujiyya-led Kano State Government.

The Kwankwasiyya Movement also commended the Deputy Governor, as well as elected representatives at the National Assembly, Kano State House of Assembly, and local council levels, for remaining loyal to the mandate given to them by the electorate despite what it described as sustained pressure and inducements.
Dr. Mohammed said the loyalty of the elected officials had strengthened public confidence in representative democracy and reaffirmed the Movement’s commitment to principled politics.
Similarly, members who resigned from local government councils, including council secretaries, supervisory councillors, special advisers, and personal assistants, were also praised for what the Movement described as their commitment to justice, fairness, and grassroots mobilisation.
The statement emphasised that the Kwankwasiyya Movement is founded on sacrifice, service, and the pursuit of good governance and social justice, rather than the pursuit of political offices or privileges.
While acknowledging members who remained in office for transitional or personal reasons, the Movement urged them to conduct themselves with professionalism, restraint, and civility.
It assured supporters that the Kwankwasiyya Movement remains united and focused, adding that no form of pressure or intimidation would derail a movement rooted in the will and aspirations of the people.
