Galaxy Backbone Limited> (GBB) on Thursday hosted members of the National Assembly Joint Committee on ICT and Cybersecurity for an oversight visit to the National Shared Services Centre (NSSC), reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s digital infrastructure and cybersecurity framework.
The delegation comprised members of the Senate Committee on ICT and Cybersecurity and the House of Representatives Committee on Digital and Information Technology.

The visit was led by the Chairman of the House Committee on Digital and Information Technology, Stanley Olajide Adedeji, on behalf of the Chairman of the Senate Committee on ICT and Cybersecurity, Shuaib Afolabi Salisu.
The oversight engagement was aimed at evaluating GBB’s ongoing projects, programmes, and operational performance, while also providing an opportunity for discussions on administrative and strategic matters related to Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda.
In his remarks, Hon. Adedeji highlighted the critical role of technology in national development, stressing that sustained legislative backing for the ICT sector remains vital to Nigeria’s economic growth, security, and global competitiveness.
He described Galaxy Backbone as a strategic national asset that requires continued investment and institutional support to effectively deliver on its mandate.

According to him, greater funding for government ICT institutions is essential to building the digital infrastructure needed to enhance governance, promote economic resilience, and secure Nigeria’s future competitiveness in the global digital economy.
Welcoming the delegation, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Backbone, Ibrahim A. Adeyanju, expressed appreciation for the committee’s oversight role and reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to providing secure, reliable, and scalable ICT infrastructure and shared services to Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), as well as private sector clients nationwide.
During the visit, GBB’s management team delivered a comprehensive presentation detailing its performance milestones and strategic roadmap.
Central to the briefing was the Integrated Digital Transformation Strategy (IDTS) 2024–2028, described as the agency’s blueprint for advancing sovereign digital transformation, expanding infrastructure reach, strengthening cybersecurity resilience, and enabling seamless government-to-government and government-to-citizen service delivery.
The delegation also toured the National Shared Services Centre, where they were briefed on the critical infrastructure, operational frameworks, and service delivery systems supporting Nigeria’s digital ecosystem.
Galaxy Backbone used the occasion to urge Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to leverage its Tier III data centres and high-speed fibre infrastructure to improve service delivery, enhance data sovereignty, and promote operational efficiency.
The organisation noted that increased utilisation of its secure digital platforms would help institutions reduce infrastructure costs, improve resilience, and accelerate digital transformation efforts in alignment with national objectives.
