The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, has rewarded outstanding civil servants with laptops in recognition of their dedication to advancing digital capacity within the federal public service.
The presentation took place during a strategic visit to the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), where the NITDA boss reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to achieving 95 percent digital literacy nationwide by 2030, with a key milestone of 70 percent by 2027.
Inuwa disclosed that over 54,000 civil servants have already enrolled in the Digital Literacy for All (DL4ALL) initiative, highlighting NITDA’s pivotal role in building a digitally enabled and future-ready public service in alignment with President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The DL4ALL programme, implemented in partnership with the OHCSF, is designed to equip public servants with practical digital skills to improve productivity, service delivery, and institutional efficiency across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
The laptops were presented to high-performing participants to support the continuous application of their newly acquired competencies and encourage sustained excellence in digital transformation efforts.
In her remarks, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, commended NITDA’s leadership for its strategic vision and unwavering commitment to digital capacity development.
She noted that the initiative aligns with ongoing public service reforms and remains critical to building a competent, efficient, and technology-driven civil service.
The collaboration between NITDA and the OHCSF is part of broader efforts to modernize governance structures and strengthen Nigeria’s digital economy through capacity building within the public sector.
