The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 7 Division, Operation HADIN KAI, Brigadier General Solomon Diwa, has paid a courtesy visit to the State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Borno State as part of his maiden official engagements following his assumption of duty.
Speaking during the visit, Brigadier General Diwa described the engagement as a privilege and expressed appreciation to the State Commander, Usman Sule, for the warm reception accorded to him and his entourage.
He noted that the visit provided an opportunity to strengthen the existing collaboration between the Nigerian Army and the NDLEA, stressing the importance of inter-agency cooperation in addressing emerging security challenges.
The GOC assured the NDLEA of the Nigerian Army’s continued support in the collective effort to combat drug-related crimes and enhance security across Borno State and beyond.
In his response, the State Commander of the NDLEA, Usman Sule, welcomed the GOC and described the visit as a significant gesture of partnership and recognition of the agency’s role in tackling drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
He highlighted the strong link between drug abuse, illicit trafficking and insurgency, calling for sustained joint efforts to address the menace effectively.
Sule also emphasized the need for continuous sensitization of personnel on the dangers and consequences of drug abuse, while commending the ongoing cooperation between both institutions in the fight against insecurity.
