The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has celebrated Nigerian students who distinguished themselves at the 2026 Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC).
The agency, in a statement, said the students’ performance demonstrated the talent and potential of Nigerian youths on the global academic stage.
According to the NOA, Agu Chukwuka and Okpere Udo Hallel emerged as Gold Medalists, while other members of Team Nigeria also won medals in various categories.
The agency described the achievement as a reflection of the students’ hard work, discipline, perseverance and commitment to excellence.
It said their success had brought pride to their families, schools and communities, while reinforcing Nigeria’s reputation in international academic competitions.
The NOA noted that the students’ performance should serve as an inspiration to other Nigerian youths, demonstrating that with dedication, self-belief and access to opportunities, they can compete successfully with their peers from around the world.
It also acknowledged the contributions of teachers, parents, coaches and education advocates who supported the young scholars, as well as government efforts to promote quality education and nurture talents.
The agency congratulated Team Nigeria for the achievement and described the students as its “Nigerians of the Week.”
