The Jigawa State Police Command has raided several criminal hideouts and arrested 153 suspects across the state.
Spokesman of the Command, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the development in a statement issued to newsmen.
He said the operation was part of the Command’s sustained efforts to rid the state of crime and criminality.

According to him, “Operatives of the Jigawa State Police Command have successfully carried out coordinated raids on criminals’ hideouts, black spots, and drug joints across the forty-two (42) Divisions in the state.”
He added that during the well-coordinated operations, a total of 153 suspects were arrested for various offences, including drug peddling, possession of illicit substances, and other related crimes.
SP Shiisu further revealed that exhibits recovered from the suspects include 3,139 Exol tablets, 2,977 D5 tablets, 1,774 Tramadol capsules, three blocks and 943 wraps of dried cannabis, 98 Diazepam tablets, 176 bottles of rubber solution, 46 “suck and die” substances, 500 bottles of syrup, five Pregabalin capsules, 37 Pentazocine injections, 22 Vegakris capsules, 30 packs of snuff, cash amounting to ₦228,570, and one boxer motorcycle.
He noted that all suspects have been charged to court after discreet investigations.

The Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Command, CP Dahiru Muhammad, commended the operatives for their gallant efforts and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to combating crime in all its forms.
He also urged members of the public to continue supporting the Police with timely and credible information that would aid in the ongoing fight against drug abuse and other criminal activities across the state.
The Command assured residents of its determination to provide a safe and secure environment for all, warning criminal elements to either desist from their unlawful acts or face the full wrath of the law.
