The Nigerian Democratic Working Group has endorsed the nomination of Murtala Sule Garo as Deputy Governor of Kano State, describing the move as timely and in line with the principles of effective governance and democratic consolidation.
In a statement signed by it’s National Coordinator, Mohammed Hussaini, the group commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for what it called a well-considered decision that reflects political maturity, inclusiveness, and a commitment to strengthening institutional leadership in the state.
According to the group, the nomination highlights the importance of appointing experienced and capable individuals to key leadership positions to enhance governance outcomes and ensure policies that align with grassroots realities.

The group noted that Garo’s extensive experience in public service and active involvement in political processes position him to effectively support the governor in delivering on the administration’s development agenda.
It also called on political stakeholders across party lines to support the nomination in the interest of unity, stability, and sustainable development in Kano State.
Emphasizing collaboration, the group urged political actors to prioritize collective progress over partisan differences, stressing that lasting governance success depends on shared responsibility and inclusive participation.
