The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore, has extended warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of the Islamic New Year, 1448 AH.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, the Speaker described the Islamic New Year as a period for reflection, forgiveness, gratitude, and renewed commitment to faith.
Falgore urged Muslim faithful to remain steadfast in the remembrance of Allah in all their actions and responsibilities, emphasizing the importance of spiritual devotion and righteous conduct as the new Hijri year begins.
As Muslims usher in the month of Muharram, the Speaker prayed for Allah’s guidance and blessings upon the people of Kano State, asking for strength to overcome challenges and for the year to bring prosperity, peace, and success in both this life and the hereafter.
He also called on citizens to resist temptation, uphold moral values, and seek divine protection from all forms of evil.
“On behalf of the Kano State House of Assembly, we wish you a New Year filled with blessings, renewed faith, and greater love for one another. May Allah bless the Muslim Ummah and make 1448 AH a year of spiritual elevation, inner peace, and stability,” Falgore stated.
The Speaker further reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to its constitutional and legislative responsibilities, assuring residents of Kano State that lawmakers would continue to enact people-oriented laws aimed at improving living standards and promoting sustainable development across the state.
Falgore also expressed appreciation to the Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his continued dedication to the development and progress of the state, while extending his best wishes to the Governor and the people of Kano on the occasion of the Islamic New Year.
