The death of the Emir of Gumel, Alhaji Ahmad Muhammad Sani II, has been described as a great loss to Jigawa State and Nigeria.
The Acting Rector of Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic, Kazaure, Dr Bashir Ahmad Danzomo, stated this in a condolence message issued on behalf of the institution’s Governing Council, Management, staff and students.
Dr Danzomo described the late monarch as a father, mentor and dedicated statesman who devoted his life to the service of humanity and the development of his community and the nation.
He said the late Emir was enthroned in 1980 during the administration of the then Governor of the old Kano State, the late Alhaji Abubakar Rimi.
The Acting Rector said the Polytechnic was deeply shocked and saddened by the Emir’s death, describing his passing as an irreparable loss to the people of Gumel Emirate, Jigawa State and Nigeria.
Dr Danzomo extended the institution’s condolences to the Jigawa State Governor, Mallam Umar Namadi, the Gumel Emirate Council, the late monarch’s family and the people of the state.
He prayed to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala to forgive the late Emir’s shortcomings, grant him Jannatul Firdaus and give his family, associates and the people of Gumel Emirate the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
