The Presidency has dismissed as false a report circulating on social media claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has replaced his Chief of Staff, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, with the Principal Private Secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola.
The clarification was contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, the Presidency categorically stated that there is absolutely no truth to the claim and urged Nigerians to disregard it entirely.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila remains the Chief of Staff to the President, while Hakeem Muri-Okunola continues to serve as Principal Private Secretary. There has been no change in either position,” the statement read.
The Presidency described the viral report as a deliberate fabrication by mischievous purveyors of fake news, aimed at creating confusion and disharmony within the government.
It further called on members of the public and the media to always verify information from credible and official sources before publishing or sharing content, especially on social media.
