The Kano State House of Assembly (KNHA) says it has adopted more than 700 motions and passed 15 bills between January and December 2025 as part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state.
The Majority Leader of the House, Alhaji Lawan Hussaini Dala, disclosed this while briefing journalists at the Assembly Complex in Kano.
According to him, key legislations passed during the period include the Kano State Geographical Information System Law, Kano State Centre for Disease Control Law, Kano State Signage and Advertisement Agency Law, Kano State Electricity Law, and the Kano State Security Law, among others.

He explained that the Assembly also adopted several motions related to the construction, renovation, and upgrading of roads, schools, health facilities, and other critical sectors, aimed at improving the living standards of residents across the state’s 44 local government areas.
Alhaji Lawan Hussaini noted that in line with constitutional provisions, the House carried out extensive oversight functions to ensure proper implementation of projects approved under the 2025 fiscal year.

He added that the Assembly organised a public hearing to collate citizens’ input into the 2025 budget before passage.
