Top officials in Kano State’s energy sector have expressed their full support for the decision of the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, to realign the political direction of the state with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, Engr. Dr. Gaddafi Sani Shehu, made the position known alongside the Managing Director of the Kano Hydro Electric Development Company (KHEDCO), Engr. Ado Ibrahim Doguwa; the Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Board (REB), Engr. Sani Bala Dambatta; and the Deputy Managing Director of KHEDCO, Engr. Abduljabar Muhammad Nanono, in a joint statement.
The energy sector leaders described Governor Yusuf’s decision as visionary, timely, and in the overall interest of Kano State, noting that the move would further strengthen unity, peace, and sustainable development across the state.
They highlighted that under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Kano State has recorded significant progress in power generation, rural electrification, and energy infrastructure development, particularly in underserved communities.
According to them, the alignment with the APC would create additional opportunities to consolidate existing gains and accelerate ongoing and future power projects critical to economic growth and social development.
The officials reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining the achievements recorded so far and pledged to continue implementing forward-looking initiatives aimed at improving electricity supply, boosting economic activities, and enhancing the quality of life of Kano residents.
They also pledged their total loyalty and unwavering dedication to the Governor’s policies and programmes, especially in the power and renewable energy sector, which they described as a key pillar for Kano State’s economic transformation.
The leadership further called on stakeholders, government officials, and residents of the state to support the Governor’s leadership in order to ensure continued development, stability, and prosperity for Kano State.
