Former Governor of Kaduna State, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, has emerged as the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Kaduna North Senatorial District.
The Returning Officer for the exercise, Hassan Jirgi, announced the results in Zaria on Monday following the conclusion of the direct primary election conducted across the eight local government areas of the senatorial district.

According to Jirgi, Yero secured 6,060 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mohammed Mukaddas, who polled 1,044 votes, while Yusuf Ikara garnered 372 votes.
APC Strengthens Grassroots Base with New Women Movement in Kaduna
Speaking after the announcement, Yero expressed gratitude to party members and stakeholders for their support and confidence in his candidature.
The former governor also called for unity and reconciliation among members of the APC ahead of the forthcoming general elections, urging party faithful to work together to ensure victory for the party.
