The One Kano Agenda has commended the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, over the nomination of Hon. Murtala Sule Garo as Deputy Governor, describing the decision as strategic, inclusive, and reflective of strong commitment to effective governance.
In a statement signed by its Director General, Abbas Abdullahi Yakasai, the group said the nomination demonstrates foresight and a deliberate effort to strengthen governance through experienced leadership capable of linking policy direction with grassroots realities.
According to the group, the decision aligns with the broader vision of consolidating governance structures and improving administrative coordination in the state.
It noted that Governor Yusuf has shown a clear understanding of the political and administrative demands of leadership, stressing that competence, loyalty, and strong public connection remain essential qualities required at such a high-level position.
“The nomination of Hon. Murtala Sule Garo is a commendable step toward consolidating governance and enhancing administrative coordination. It reflects a deliberate effort by His Excellency to prioritize capacity and experience in advancing the state’s development agenda,” the statement read.
The One Kano Agenda further stated that Hon. Garo’s track record in public service and political engagement positions him as a valuable asset in supporting the administration’s development goals and delivering responsive governance.
The group also called on stakeholders across political divides to support the nomination, emphasizing that unity and collective responsibility are crucial for sustainable development and stability in Kano State.
It urged political actors to prioritize collaboration over division, noting that effective governance depends on shared commitment to the welfare of the people.
