President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has welcomed the 800-million-dollar Final Investment Decision, FID, on the Ima Gas Project, describing it as a major step towards developing Nigeria’s long-undeveloped gas resources. The project, being developed by Nigerian independent oil and gas company, AMNI International, in partnership with TotalEnergies, is expected to produce about 300 million standard cubic feet of gas per day at peak. The African Union (AU) and the United Nations (UN) have renewed agreements aimed at strengthening cooperation in operational support, institutional capacity development and peace support operations. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, has arrested two women, aged 48 and 50, over alleged production of adulterated “Barkas Juice” at an illegal factory in Badagry. NSCDC said its operatives conducted five days of surveillance before carrying out the operation between Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20, 2026, in collaboration with a Nigerian Army formation in the area.
