The Federal Road Safety Corps, (FRSC) has prosecuted thirty-six for seventy-seven traffic offences in a mobile court session organized at Nteje in Anambra State, as part of the Command’s efforts to reduce road traffic crashes.
Presided over by Magistrate Maria Anyanbolu, the court convicted thirty offenders while six were discharged.
Among the offences recorded during the exercise were seat belt use violations, speed limiting device violations, and light sign violations.
Others were overloading, failure to move over for emergency vehicles, number plate violations, driver’s licence and offences.
Four of the offenders were also arraigned for attempting to corrupt FRSC personnel on duty.
They were subsequently convicted, reinforcing the Corps’ zero tolerance policy towards corruption.
The Unit Commander, Chief Route Commander Uche Job, reiterated the command’s commitment to strict enforcement of traffic regulations.
He also urged motorists to comply with road safety rules to ensure safer roads for all road users.
