The Zamfara State Government has advanced plans to strengthen healthcare delivery through a strategic partnership with Tianjin City Health and Prevention Technology Company of China for the supply of modern medical equipment to health facilities across the state.
The initiative is part of the administration’s efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure, enhance service delivery and expand access to quality medical services in specialist hospitals, general hospitals and primary healthcare centres.
The Commissioner for Health Dr Nafisa Muhammad Maradun commended Governor Dauda Lawal for his commitment to transforming the state’s health sector through investments in modern infrastructure and cost-effective procurement of medical equipment.
According to the ministry, the partnership with the Chinese firm is expected to equip hospitals with advanced medical technology that will improve diagnosis, treatment and overall healthcare outcomes for residents.
As part of the collaboration, the Commissioner for Health and a team of senior technical officers are on an official visit to China to inspect the company’s manufacturing facilities, evaluate the equipment and participate in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The ministry said the technical assessment is intended to ensure that the equipment meets Zamfara State’s healthcare needs and complies with international standards for quality assurance and patient safety.
It added that the delegation will also verify the compatibility of the equipment with existing hospital infrastructure and the capacity of healthcare personnel to operate and maintain the facilities.
The assessment will further cover installation plans, user training, maintenance arrangements, availability of spare parts and after-sales technical support to ensure the long-term sustainability of the investment.
The Ministry of Health described the partnership as a significant step towards providing durable, efficient and appropriate medical technology capable of strengthening healthcare delivery across the state.
