The Kano State House of Assembly KNHA has promoted more than 90 members of staff as part of its routine career progression exercise aimed at rewarding diligence, dedication, and improved service delivery within the legislature.
The promotion exercise was conducted by the Assembly’s Promotion and Disciplinary Advisory Committee, chaired by the Clerk and Head of Legislative Services, Alhaji Bashir Diso, with the Deputy Clerk,Alhaji Magaji Nasiru, serving as deputy chairman. Directors from various departments of the Assembly also participated in the process.
Speaking on the exercise, Magaji Nasiru described the promotion as a normal administrative routine, noting that eligible staff members were considered after serving the required period, which has been adjusted from three years to two years for promotion consideration.
He explained that both senior and junior staff benefited from the exercise and commended the overall performance of the candidates.

According to him, between 70 and 80 percent of the staff who participated in the promotion process were successful, reflecting the high level of competence and commitment among the Assembly workforce.
“Generally, the performance recorded during the promotion exercise was excellent. The success rate was between 70 and 80 percent, which shows that the Assembly is in safe hands with diligent and hardworking personnel,”
The Deputy Clerk further praised the leadership of the Assembly and the Kano State Government for supporting staff welfare and career development.
He noted that following the recruitment of more than 3,000 workers by the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf across the state after a verification exercise, the Kano State House of Assembly also received its share of personnel.
Nasiru commended the Speaker of the House and Governor Yusuf for their commitment to strengthening the workforce and enhancing institutional efficiency within the state legislature.
He expressed optimism that the newly promoted staff would continue to discharge their duties with greater dedication and professionalism in support of legislative activities in Kano State.
