The Kano State Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Abubakar Idris-Ahmad, has been honored with the Eminent Man of Integrity and Peace Ambassador awards by Wazobia Conflict Resolution and Peace Advocacy Initiative.
Presenting the award on Thursday in Kano, the National President and convener of the organization, Dr Garba Suleiman-Marafa, said the award was in recognition of Idris-Ahmad’s outstanding contributions to peace and security.
He explained that the award was an opportunity to recognize the Commander’s exceptional contributions to combating drug menace in Kano State, which was essential for fostering sustainable peace and security in the state.

“Idris-Ahmad is an icon worthy of such recognition, especially his balanced and strategic approach in the ongoing fight against drug abuse,” he said
Sulaiman Marafa commended NDLEA State Command for their selfless service to humanity, commitment to peace building and effective conflict resolution efforts.
Responding, Idris-Ahmad thanked the organization for honoring him with the award.
He dedicated the awards to the Chairman, Brig.- Gen. Mohammed Buba-Marwa, for his support in ensuring that the agency fulfills its mission of Integrity effectively.
The Commander commended the state NSCDC personnel for their unwavering commitment to the agency’s mission and their collective efforts in addressing the drug abuse.
He also applauded other sister security agencies, NGO’s, community organization and Kano State Government for creating an enabling environment that facilitated the success of the agency’s operations.
