The Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has ordered the posting of medical doctors, nurses, and support staff to commence services at Kuka Village Comprehensive Primary Healthcare, recently upgraded to a General Hospital.
The directive was given during an inspection of the hospital facilities in Kuka Village, Kalgo Local Government Area. Governor Idris also approved the installation of a 50 kVA solar power system to enhance service delivery and ease the work of hospital staff.
Additionally, he ordered the rehabilitation of the road linking Makera to Kuka Village to improve access to the facility.
Addressing residents, Governor Idris urged them to participate in the ongoing APC e-registration, become card-carrying party members, and ensure they obtain and safeguard their PVCs from INEC to exercise their voting rights in the next general elections.
Earlier, during the hospital tour, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Abubakar Zaki, stated that the hospital has a 100-bed capacity and will serve residents of Kalgo as well as neighboring local government areas including Bunza, Birnin Kebbi, and Arewa.
Dr. Zaki added that the facility is equipped with a labour room, theatre, staff quarters, pharmacy, laboratory, and other essential medical facilities. He also thanked the governor for responding promptly to past requests and complaints from the community.
