In a bid to promote health and well-being among female students, the Chairman of Garun Malam Local Government, Alhaji Aminanu Salisu, has launched an initiative to educate female students on menstrual hygiene and provide them with free sanitary pads.

The initiative, which is being implemented in collaboration with the Garun Malam Youth Awareness Forum, a local non-governmental organization, aims to provide female students with the necessary knowledge and skills to maintain good menstrual hygiene and prevent diseases.

As part of the initiative, 500 female students from 10 wards in Garun Malam Local Government will receive free sanitary pads and education on how to use them effectively.
The wards include Garun Mallam, Yadakwari, Chiromawa, Garun Babba Jobawa, Fankurun, Dakasoye, Makwaro, Dorawar Sallau, and Kadawa.
To support the implementation of the initiative, Alhaji Aminanu Salisu has donated N180,000.
Garun Malam Youth Awareness Forum will work with local volunteers to distribute the sanitary pads and provide education to the female students in the beneficiary schools.
