Khalifah Isyaka Rabiu University (KHAIRUN) has credited its recent milestones, including the confirmation of its operating license by the National Universities Commission (NUC), to the unwavering mentorship and support it received from Bayero University Kano (BUK).
Vice-Chancellor of KHAIRUN, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, made this known when he led the university’s management team on a solidarity visit to the new Vice-Chancellor of BUK, Professor Haruna Musa, who assumed office.

Professor Garba praised BUK for its role in guiding KHAIRUN through its formative years, describing the mentorship as a pillar of strength that contributed significantly to the university’s steady growth.
He also lauded Professor Haruna’s rich academic credentials and prayed for his successful tenure.

Responding Professor Haruna thanked the KHAIRUN delegation for the visit and congratulated them on securing the NUC license, calling it a major milestone.
He pledged BUK’s continued support and partnership with the young institution.
Since its inauguration less than two years ago, KHAIRUN has been strengthening ties with local, national, and international institutions.
Recall that last week, KHAIRUN signed an academic collaboration agreement with Sabratha University in Libya.
The pact, signed by Sabratha University President, Professor Salim Mohammed Ali, and KHAIRUN Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, seeks to promote academic cooperation in research, conferences, workshops, and student exchange programs, among other areas.
