A Lagos hospital and a woman are in disagreement over a twin that reportedly went ‘missing’ after she delivered.
A viral video that emerged on Wednesday depicts a woman accusing medical personnel of allegedly withholding one of her twins after childbirth, leading to chaos and emotional scenes at a well-known hospital in the Ikotun area of Lagos state.

In the footage shared by AsakyGRN on X, the woman, seen cradling a newborn, is recorded yelling at a supposed doctor from Tip-Top Solution hospital while demanding to know where her second baby is. “Bring me my second baby.

This is unacceptable. I did not come to this hospital to have my baby taken from me,” she can be heard shouting in the video.
In the background, those accompanying her are also heard calling for the arrest of hospital staff over accusations of baby trafficking.
The video also included an obstetric scan report purportedly belonging to the patient, Blessing Isioma David, 28, dated March 2026, which indicated a twin pregnancy with two fetuses observed.

The report noted, “Twin visible. Twin 1 is in an oblique cephalic position while Twin 2 is in a transverse position.
Normal cardiac activity noted,” and added that “Gender for Twin 1 is XY, while Gender for Twin 2 is XX.” In response to the allegations, the hospital’s medical director, Sunday Babajide, refuted claims of any wrongdoing, asserting that only one baby was delivered and that the scan result was incorrect.
“The scan was erroneous, and she did not have another scan done at a different facility. It was a mistake; the scan indicated two instead of one.

The woman herself was awake during the procedure,” Babajide stated to the Peoples Gazette. The hospital director further mentioned that the family was informed right after the birth.
Supporting his assertion regarding the scan, Babajide explained, “If the scan was conducted at an early stage… it would clearly show the results. However, if the scan was performed later, an error can occur,” he noted, indicating that the scan was done around 20 weeks.
“Our mistake was not insisting that she get another scan elsewhere to confirm the results,” he added.
When reached for comment, state police spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, stated that the Command is aware of the viral video and has initiated an investigation into the issue.
“The Command is aware of the trending video and wants to inform the public that the matter is currently under investigation.
Relevant professional bodies and associations have been contacted and are collaborating with the Police to uncover the truth of the situation,” the statement read.
The police also mentioned that the Area Commander, Area M, is personally overseeing the case, assuring that the findings will be made public.
“The results of the investigation will be disclosed in due time,” it added. The Command urged residents to remain calm, emphasizing that the situation is under control.

“Members of the public are encouraged to stay calm, as the situation is under control,” the statement concluded.
