The Tinubu-Uba Sani Mobilization Network has launched a drug abuse sensitization campaign in Kaduna State as part of efforts to promote peaceful, violence-free elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The campaign, flagged off under the “Tinubu-Uba Cares” initiative with the theme, “Break the Chain of Drug Abuse: Choose Hope, Choose Life,” seeks to educate young people on the dangers of drug abuse and discourage their involvement in election-related violence.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Tinubu-Uba Sani Mobilization Network, Dr. Abdulmumini Aminu Zaria, said the initiative was designed to raise awareness about the health and social consequences of drug abuse while encouraging youths to resist being used to disrupt political activities during the election period.
He noted that the campaign aligns with the Network’s broader objective of mobilizing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to him, the sensitization programme is intended to foster responsible civic engagement among young people and promote peaceful participation throughout the electoral process.
The campaign was organized in partnership with the Kaduna State Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Agency (KadSAMHSA) and the Ampleminds Drug Abuse Awareness Campaign.
Among the dignitaries at the event were the Kaduna State Commissioner for Health, Hajiya Umma K. Ahmed; the Director-General of KadSAMHSA, Mr. Joseph Ike; and the Chief Executive Officer of the Ampleminds Initiative, Mallam Saleh Bala Saleh.
Representatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), public health professionals, and other stakeholders also attended the programme, where they emphasized the need for sustained collaboration to address substance abuse among young people and ensure peaceful elections.
The Network expressed appreciation to its chairman, Dr. Abdulmumini Aminu Zaria, members of its executive committee, partner organizations, and participants for supporting the initiative, describing the campaign as a strategic effort to promote drug-free communities and peaceful electoral participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
