The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Kano State Branch, has elected Dr. Abubakar Nagoma as its new Chairman to lead the association for the 2026–2028 tenure.
The election was conducted during the Association’s 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM), held on Saturday, August 1, where members voted to constitute a new executive committee.
According to a statement signed by Dr. Ibrahim D. M., the newly elected executive officers include Dr. Anas Alhaji Idris as First Vice Chairman, Dr. Suraj Shafi’i Umar as Second Vice Chairman, Dr. Nura Hassan Aliyu as Secretary, Dr. Sa’adatu Abubakar Sarauta as Deputy Secretary, Dr. Aliyu Nura Muhammad as Financial Secretary, Dr. Fatima Idris Adamu as Treasurer, Dr. Mujahid Sunusi Rabiu as Social and Welfare Officer, and Dr. Sunusi Usman Na’ibi as Public Relations Officer.
The statement congratulated the newly elected officials on their successful election and expressed confidence in their ability to provide effective leadership for the Association.
It also urged the new executives to work diligently towards advancing the objectives of the NMA, promoting the welfare of medical practitioners, and contributing to improved healthcare service delivery in Kano State throughout their tenure.
