Under the initiative, each of the 484 wards in Kano State will receive one fully equipped ambulance to facilitate the prompt transportation of patients and improve emergency response at the grassroots.
The programme is also expected to create employment opportunities for about 1,936 people, with each ambulance to be operated by two drivers and two medical personnel.
The inspection was led by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Tajo, in collaboration with the Commissioner for Health.

Representatives of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) also participated in the inspection and preparations for the deployment.
The state government said the initiative forms part of efforts to expand access to healthcare services and strengthen the emergency medical response system across Kano.
The deployment of the ambulances is expected to reduce delays in accessing emergency care, particularly for residents in communities located far from major health facilities.
The programme will also provide additional opportunities for trained personnel to participate in the delivery of emergency healthcare services at the ward level.
