The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation (FMINO), Dr Binyerem C. Ukaire, has urged the Ministry and its agencies to strengthen accountability, take ownership of their responsibilities and focus on delivering measurable results.
Ukaire made the call in Abuja at the 2026 Third Quarter Delivery Task Team (DTT) Performance Review Meeting for the Ministry and its agencies, held at Music Studio 5 of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Radio House.

She described the quarterly performance review as an important mechanism for strengthening accountability, tracking progress and driving results across the Ministry and its agencies.
According to her, a performing ministry or agency must understand its goals and priorities, take ownership of its responsibilities, monitor progress, identify challenges early and deliver results.
Ukaire said the quarterly review was designed to assess progress against planned targets, identify emerging challenges, strengthen accountability and support evidence-based decision-making.
She said performance tracking should answer three key questions: where an organisation currently stands, where it intends to be and whether it is moving in the right direction.

The Permanent Secretary urged Directors, Heads of Agencies and Delivery Task Team Desk Officers to move beyond simply reporting activities and instead focus on interpreting results, identifying performance gaps and developing practical solutions.
“Our responsibility must go beyond reporting activities; we must interpret the results correctly,” she said.
Ukaire commended the Central Results Delivery Coordination Unit (CRDCU), the Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, Hadiza Bala-Usman, and the CRDCU Delivery Manager, Barrister Uche Chikwe, for their support to the Ministry.
The Director-General of FRCN, Dr Mohammed Bulama, said the Corporation had taken deliberate steps to align its operations with the Federal Government’s delivery framework.
Bulama said FRCN’s activities cut across all eight government priorities, particularly priorities seven and eight, through the use of creative arts, digitisation and innovation to inform, educate and entertain Nigerians.

He added that the Corporation was also contributing to improved governance through credible information dissemination.
Ukaire assured participants that the Ministry would continue to provide the leadership required to move from activities to measurable results and from identifying challenges to implementing solutions in line with the Federal Government’s priorities.
