The Vice-Chancellor of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano, KHAIRUN, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, has called for the transformation of science education through innovation, entrepreneurship and practical skills development.
Professor Garba made the call while delivering a paper titled, “Transforming Science Education Through Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the 21st Century Environment,” at Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Kumbotso, Kano.

The paper was delivered as part of the college’s academic engagement and focused on the need to reposition science education to meet the demands of the 21st century.
The Vice-Chancellor stressed the importance of equipping students and educators with relevant knowledge and competencies to address contemporary challenges and contribute to economic and technological development.
He noted that science education should go beyond theoretical knowledge by creating opportunities for learners to develop practical skills, innovative ideas and entrepreneurial solutions.

Professor Garba also highlighted the role of educational institutions in creating an enabling environment where scientific knowledge could be translated into practical solutions and sustainable businesses.
He called for stronger collaboration among educational institutions, industry and other relevant stakeholders to promote research, innovation and entrepreneurship.
According to him, such partnerships are essential to ensuring that scientific discoveries and academic knowledge contribute meaningfully to national development.
