The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Enugu/Anambra/Ebonyi Command has achieved a remarkable feat, recording an unprecedented revenue of N50,847,625,597.08 in 2024.
This impressive figure represents a 50% increase from the N27.9 billion collected in 2023, marking the highest revenue collection in the Command’s history.

Comptroller Comfort Ukpanah, Customs Area Controller, attributed this success to the Command’s strategic alignment with the Comptroller General’s policy thrust of Collaboration, Consolidation, and Innovation.
By fostering a collaborative relationship with stakeholders, the Command created an inclusive methodology that promoted trust and strict adherence to trade guidelines.

To prevent revenue leakages, the Command developed a compliance monitoring template, which ensured stakeholders’ adherence to guidelines.
Additionally, intelligence sharing and collaboration with other agencies enabled the Command to identify and bring under control excise factories that had previously evaded Customs oversight.

Comptroller Ukpanah emphasized the Command’s commitment to vigilance, stating that round-the-clock surveillance was maintained to ensure that appropriate excise duties were collected from factories.
As the Command looks ahead to 2025, Comptroller Ukpanah assured Nigerians that they are ready to meet and surpass expected revenue targets.
She praised the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, for his leadership and support, which was instrumental in the Command’s success.
Comptroller Ukpanah also appreciated the support of compliant traders and advised non-compliant operators to adhere to trade guidelines or face the full wrath of the law.
