The National Agricultural Development Fund NADF and NIRSAL Plc are strengthening collaboration on agricultural mechanisation and financing following a high-level meeting held in Abuja.
The engagement builds on earlier discussions between both institutions focused on agricultural financing and support for primary production across Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
Speaking during the meeting, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of NADF, Mohammed A. Ibrahim, said stronger institutional partnerships had become necessary to improve agricultural productivity and enhance the value chain.
“The current realities within Nigeria’s agricultural sector demand stronger institutional collaboration capable of maximising limited resources and delivering sustainable impact across the agricultural value chain,” he stated.
Also speaking, the Executive Director of Operations at NIRSAL Plc, Ewaen Imohe, emphasised the importance of financing in advancing mechanisation and boosting productivity in the agricultural sector.
“Accessible and affordable financing remains a critical pillar for improving mechanisation and agricultural productivity,” he said.
The meeting further explored opportunities in irrigation-supported farming, concessional financing and technology-driven monitoring systems aimed at improving food production nationwide.
Technical teams from both organisations also agreed to sustain discussions on practical partnership models targeted at strengthening food security and increasing agricultural output across the country.
