The Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA), Kano State Chapter, has congratulated the Chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission, Alhaji Muhammad Tukur Babangida, on his appointment and presented a 10-point proposal aimed at advancing sports development in the state.
The association made the presentation during a congratulatory visit to the Sports Commission Chairman on Wednesday, according to a statement signed by Zulfa’at Abubakar Rano, Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Sports Commission.
Chairman of the NFCA Kano Chapter, Barrister Ibrahim Gwadabe, said the visit was aimed at congratulating Babangida on his appointment and sharing ideas and recommendations to improve football and other sporting activities in Kano State.
Gwadabe commended the Kano State Government for supporting coaches by paying their tuition fees at the National Institute for Sports (NIS), describing the initiative as a significant investment in strengthening the capacity and professionalism of coaches in the state.
He also appealed to the state government to extend similar support to indigenous coaches pursuing the CAF B Coaching Licence.
According to him, providing such assistance would help increase the number of qualified and professional coaches capable of contributing meaningfully to the development of football in Kano State.
Responding, the Chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission, Alhaji Muhammad Tukur Babangida, appreciated the NFCA delegation for the visit and commended the association for its commitment to the advancement of football and sports in the state.
Babangida assured the association that the Commission would carefully consider the requests and recommendations contained in the 10-point proposal and engage relevant stakeholders towards implementing measures that would promote sustainable sports development across Kano State.
