The Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo Foundation has congratulated its Founder, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, on his appointment as Chancellor of Hausawan Turai (Europe), describing the honour as a well-deserved recognition of his contributions to education, humanitarian service, community development and the promotion of cultural values.
The appointment was announced during the 2026 International Hausa Day celebration in Paris, France, in recognition of Professor Gwarzo’s commitment to promoting the Hausa language, culture, identity and the welfare of Hausa communities.

In a congratulatory message, the Foundation’s Management described the appointment as not only a significant personal honour for Professor Gwarzo but also an opportunity to strengthen connections among Hausa communities and promote greater cultural engagement across borders.
The Foundation said the new role provides a strategic platform for advancing cultural exchange, mutual understanding, peaceful coexistence and international cooperation.
According to the Management, Professor Gwarzo’s appointment comes at a time when diaspora communities have an increasingly important role to play in connecting cultures, strengthening international partnerships and contributing to sustainable development.
It expressed confidence that his experience as an educationist, institution builder, philanthropist and development advocate would bring significant value to his new responsibility.
The Foundation said the position could further support initiatives in education, youth development, cultural preservation, innovation and global partnerships, while creating stronger links between Hausa communities in the diaspora, their host communities, and institutions in Nigeria and across Africa.

The Management also noted that cultural leadership in the modern world should go beyond the preservation of heritage to promoting dialogue, understanding and cooperation among people of different backgrounds.
“Professor Gwarzo’s appointment provides an opportunity to build stronger bridges between communities and cultures, promote mutual respect and understanding, and explore new avenues for collaboration in education, development and peacebuilding,” the Foundation said.
It added that Professor Gwarzo’s longstanding commitment to human development and community service reflects the belief that leadership carries a responsibility to create opportunities, empower people and contribute to the common good.
The Foundation expressed optimism that his new role would open a new chapter of engagement and service, enabling him to contribute further to the promotion of unity, cultural diplomacy, peace and sustainable development.
It wished Professor Gwarzo success in his new responsibility and expressed hope that his tenure would inspire meaningful initiatives and partnerships that would benefit Hausa communities while contributing to stronger cultural and international relations.
