The Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR), through its National Peace Academy (NPA), has concluded a Strategic Course on Negotiation and Mediation (Chartered), aimed at strengthening participants’ skills in conflict management and peacebuilding.
The course equipped participants with practical knowledge and skills in negotiation, mediation, conflict management and peacebuilding, with emphasis on applying peaceful approaches to resolving disputes.

At the closing ceremony, the Director-General of IPCR, Dr Joseph Ochogwu, urged participants to apply the knowledge acquired during the training in their workplaces, families and communities.
Dr Ochogwu encouraged them to promote dialogue, discipline, responsible leadership and non-violent approaches to conflict resolution, stressing the importance of individual contributions to building peaceful communities.

He also urged the participants to remain hopeful and contribute positively to national development, noting that “Nigeria has a bright future.”
Speaking on behalf of the participants, VN Aniekwe of the Nigeria Immigration Service expressed appreciation to the Controller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Mrs Kemi Nanna Nandap, the IPCR leadership, facilitators and staff for providing what he described as a transformative learning experience.

Aniekwe said the training had produced new ambassadors of peace committed to advancing mediation and peacebuilding efforts across Nigeria.
The course forms part of IPCR’s efforts to strengthen the capacity of stakeholders to prevent, manage and resolve conflicts through dialogue and peaceful means.
