Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, says his administration will continue to create an enabling environment for young Nigerians to thrive and contribute meaningfully to national development.
Governor Fintiri stated this during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2026 Batch C, Stream One corps members at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Damare, Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, the governor described the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, as one of Nigeria’s enduring instruments for promoting national unity, integration and development.
He said the NYSC scheme provides an opportunity for young Nigerians from diverse ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds to interact, appreciate the country’s diversity and build lasting relationships.
Governor Fintiri urged the corps members to uphold patriotism, discipline, tolerance, hard work, selflessness and service to humanity throughout their service year.
He encouraged them to see their primary assignments and Community Development Service, CDS, projects as opportunities to identify challenges and develop practical solutions that would improve the lives of people in their host communities.

On their welfare, the governor said the state government had consistently supported the NYSC orientation exercise by augmenting feeding allowances for corps members.
He assured corps members serving in Adamawa that the state government would continue paying the ₦30,000 monthly allowance introduced to cushion the effects of prevailing economic challenges.
Earlier, the Adamawa State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs Asoroh Caroline, commended Governor Fintiri for supporting corps members’ feeding during the orientation course and sustaining the monthly allowance.
Mrs Asoroh also appreciated the state government for its efforts towards developing a more befitting permanent NYSC orientation camp at Malkohi.
A member of the NYSC State Governing Board, Wali Yakubu, urged the corps members to conduct themselves responsibly and acquire skills that would enable them contribute to national development.

The oath of allegiance was administered by the Adamawa State Chief Judge, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, who urged the corps members to obey the law and respect constituted authorities in Nigeria.
About 1,428 corps members have so far registered for the orientation exercise at the camp.
