Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has expressed deep sorrow over the recent attacks on Kaoje and neighbouring communities in Bagudo Local Government Area, which claimed several lives, destroyed property and displaced residents.

The Governor, who condoled with the affected communities, described the loss of innocent lives as painful and assured residents that the state government would take further measures to strengthen security in the affected areas and prevent future attacks.
Governor Idris said the killing of innocent citizens would not be tolerated by either the state or federal government, urging residents to remain calm, law-abiding and supportive of security agencies as efforts are intensified to restore peace.
He disclosed that he had constituted a committee comprising security officials and relevant stakeholders to assess the security situation and recommend additional measures to restore peace in the affected communities.

The Governor also announced an additional N100 million in support of victims of the attacks, bringing the total financial assistance provided by the state government to N200 million.
He further revealed that arrangements had been concluded for the deployment of three security units to strengthen security around the affected communities.
Governor Idris said the state government had also ordered the procurement of additional operational vehicles for security agencies to enhance their capacity to respond to security threats.

He added that the state government would collaborate with federal lawmakers to secure additional security assistance for the affected areas.
The Governor assured residents of the government’s determination to safeguard lives and property and restore normalcy to the affected communities.
