The Federal Ministry of Education (FME) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and quality service delivery, emphasizing strict adherence to procurement guidelines as it approves new projects aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s education sector.

Speaking at the 2nd Ministerial Tenders Board (MTB) meeting for the 2025 financial year, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Abel Olamuyiwa Enitan, reminded all stakeholders especially directors and project implementers that ignorance of procurement procedures is not an excuse in contract execution.

He stressed the importance of diligence and professionalism, adding that all budget allocations must be judiciously applied and projects executed to the highest standards.

Mr. Enitan highlighted that the Ministry’s 2024 capital budget is fully aligned with due procurement processes. He reiterated that service delivery and quality assurance remain top priorities, urging senior management to ensure that memos presented to the Board are comprehensive, accurate, and well-justified.

The P.S also noted that only certified and qualified contractors will be engaged in government-funded projects, as part of measures to uphold standards and prevent contract failures.

He assured that the Ministry would ensure the timely and effective implementation of all approved projects and contracts in line with its mandate to deliver quality education services nationwide.
