Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has approved the release of over ₦1.1 billion for key educational projects across the state, including the settlement of outstanding student registration fees for the 2024/2025 academic session.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Higher Education, Alhaji Isah Abubakar Tunga, during a press conference held in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.

According to the commissioner, a total of ₦230,205,981 has been allocated for the renovation of the Abdulsalamu Nagimbana (Bush House) and Emir Haruna Rasheed Students’ Hostels at the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Jega.
In a related development, the governor also approved ₦251,525,000 for the procurement of essential equipment to support the take-off of the newly established College of Midwifery in Ambursa, Birnin Kebbi.
Additionally, ₦700 million has been earmarked for the payment of outstanding registration fees for Kebbi State students studying in institutions across Nigeria for the 2024/2025 academic session.
Alhaji Isah Tunga emphasized that the gesture reflects Governor Idris’s unwavering commitment to enhancing access to quality education and strengthening the capacity of tertiary institutions in the state to compete nationally.

He also expressed his appreciation to the governor for what he described as “timely and people-centered projects,” and called on students and all citizens of Kebbi State to continue supporting the present administration with prayers and goodwill for its success in delivering quality education and good governance.
