The Emir also highlighted the contributions of the Zazzau Emirate towards promoting female education, citing the Centre for Girls Education in Zaria as a model initiative transforming lives.
Speaking at the event, the Director of the Centre, Hajiya Habiba Muhammad, outlined achievements made through partnership with the Malala Foundation, including scholarships, mentorship programmes, and community sensitisation campaigns.
One of the beneficiaries, Malala Fellow Amina Yusuf, shared her inspiring journey, explaining how she nearly dropped out of school due to financial challenges but was able to complete her education with support from the Centre. Now a Malala Fellow herself, she helps other girls access similar opportunities.
“I was able to complete my education because of the support I received from the Centre for Girls Education. Today, I am proud to be working with the Malala Fund to help other girls achieve their dreams,” she said, calling on parents and communities to continue championing education for girls.
The visit concluded with the exchange of souvenirs and a group photograph, underscoring the sustained partnership between the Malala Foundation and the Zazzau Emirate in promoting education and gender equality.
