The Federal Government has pledged to support the production of a documentary film celebrating Nigeria’s 25 years of uninterrupted democracy.
This commitment was made by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during a meeting with the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Abuja.
The documentary, an initiative of IPAC, aims to chronicle Nigeria’s democratic journey, highlighting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned over the past 25 years.
It will also showcase advancements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and social cohesion.
According to Idris, the Federal Government values IPAC’s efforts in fostering democracy and promoting national unity.
He emphasized the importance of political parties working together beyond elections to build a stronger nation.
The documentary is expected to feature renowned Nollywood actors and will be produced with state-of-the-art equipment to meet global standards.
It will serve as an educational resource and a unifying narrative for the younger generation, particularly Gen Z.
The National Chairman of IPAC, Honourable Yusuf Dantatlle, expressed his gratitude for the Federal Government’s support. He noted that the documentary will be a historical marker and a valuable resource for the younger generation.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation reiterated the government’s commitment to democracy and national unity. He emphasized that the sustaining of democracy is a collective effort and that political parties must work together beyond elections to build a stronger nation.
