The General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Dr Muhammad Sunusi, has charged the Falconets to uphold strong character and make Nigeria proud as they depart for Poland on Monday for their international assignment.
Speaking to the team before their departure, Sunusi described representing Nigeria as a great honour and urged the players to use the opportunity to launch their careers on the global stage, showcase the country’s talent and bring joy to Nigerians.
He challenged the players to return with the trophy, which he said would ideally be presented to the President and First Lady.
The NFF General Secretary assured the team that the federation, in collaboration with the National Sports Commission and the Federal Government, had worked to provide an enabling environment for success.
He said preparatory sessions were also held at the competition venue to help the players acclimatise to the environment.
Sunusi urged the Falconets to combine their technical and tactical preparations with faith and prayers, while wishing them a safe journey and a successful tournament, particularly without injuries.
Meanwhile, the NFF said it is closely monitoring logistics concerning the team, including visa and travel challenges affecting some players.
The federation assured that efforts were ongoing to resolve the issues and ensure all players join the team as soon as possible.
The NFF reiterated its full support for the Falconets and wished them success in the tournament.
