The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has granted an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) to Rocket Aviation, authorising the company to commence non-scheduled flight operations in Nigeria following the successful completion of all regulatory and safety requirements.
The presentation ceremony was held on June 23, 2026, at the NCAA headquarters in Abuja.
Speaking at the event, the Director-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Capt. Chris Najomo, congratulated the airline, describing the achievement as a significant milestone in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
Capt. Najomo noted that obtaining the certificate marked only the beginning of the airline’s regulatory responsibilities, stressing that the maintenance of high safety and operational standards remained paramount.
He urged Rocket Aviation to sustain a strong safety culture through strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), effective Crew Resource Management (CRM), timely reporting of safety concerns, and continuous collaboration among flight crew and operational staff.
The DGCA also commended Rocket Aviation and the NCAA certification team for their dedication throughout the nearly two-year certification process, adding that rigorous inspections, assessments, and regulatory oversight are essential to ensuring accountability and safer skies.
Responding on behalf of Rocket Aviation, the Accounts Manager, Mrs. Bisola Yejide, expressed appreciation to the NCAA management led by Capt. Najomo and the certification team for their guidance and professionalism throughout the process.
She assured that the airline would uphold the safety standards that earned it certification, reaffirming its commitment to operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement across all areas of its operations.
