The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has issued Aviation Security (AVSEC) Authorization Certificates to six institutions and service providers as part of efforts to strengthen aviation security standards and regulatory compliance in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
The certified organisations include FAAN Aviation Training School, Maiken Security and Consultancy Services Limited, Chigurad Services Nigeria Limited, Safety Signatures Limited, Jomaric Security Service Nigeria Limited, and Vani Security.

Speaking during the certificate presentation ceremony held in Lagos, Director-General of Civil Aviation, Chris Najomo, represented by the Director of Aviation Security Regulation, Bernard Omogo, stated that certification remains a mandatory requirement for all institutions engaged in aviation security operations.
He explained that approval is granted strictly on the basis of compliance with established regulatory standards aimed at ensuring safety and professionalism within the aviation industry.
Also speaking at the event, the General Manager of AVSEC, Amzat Ibrahim, described the certification exercise as a new phase of verification for service providers operating within the aviation security sector.
According to him, while some organisations underwent renewal of their certifications, others received the unified NCAA certification for the first time. He added that the validity period of the certification has now been extended from two years to three years.
The event was attended by top officials of the NCAA, representatives of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, officials from the Ministry of Aviation, as well as stakeholders and operators within the aviation security sector.

In a vote of thanks, representatives of the certified service providers expressed appreciation to the NCAA for the exercise, describing it as a significant step toward enhancing professionalism and standardisation within the industry.
They also pledged continued compliance with aviation security regulations and reaffirmed their commitment to upholding global best practices in their operations.
