A consultative meeting was held between the Kano State Ministry of Land and Physical Planning, representatives of communities impacted by the Taludu Flyover construction project (specifically Taludu, Sani Mainagge, and Kabuga), and security agencies.

The State Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Alhaji Abduljabar Umar, represented by the Ministry’s Acting Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Muhammad Yahuza, stated that the meeting between the state government and stakeholders had yielded positive outcomes.

Commissioner Abduljabar urged individuals with malicious intentions to avoid the project site, warning that security personnel would apprehend anyone attempting to loot or vandalize properties under the guise of salvage.

The Chairman of the Three Communities Residence, Alhaji Abba Aminu Imam, stated that the meeting aimed to explore amicable solutions to facilitate the government’s continuation of the project.

According to him, the past three months saw productive meetings between the government and affected people, with concessions made and the state governor taking the right steps.

Alhaji Abba Aminu Imam noted that they were convinced by the government’s actions, particularly regarding compensation payments accepted by affected individuals whose properties would be demolished.

The State Commissioner of Police assured that security agencies would not stand idly by while miscreants cause trouble within the project site’s perimeter.

He emphasized that necessary action would be taken to maintain order and security against miscreants causing disturbances.
